Christ the Redeemer in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

Travel Guide to Christ the Redeemer Statue on Corcovado Mountain in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

Christ the Redeemer is located on the summit of Corcovado Mountain in Rio de Janeiro.

More than 6 million tourists travel to Brazil every year, and the vast majority of them visit Rio. Upon arrival, the first attraction – usually – they wish to visit is the famous Christ the Redeemer statue.

On your trip to Rio de Janeiro, you’ll probably wish to visit Christ the Redeemer, which is listed as one of the New Seven Wonders of the World.

Why, then, do thousands of visitors each year leave disappointed?

1. Too many visitors!

→ There are too many visitors to the Christ the Redeemer Statue on a typical very busy day. Because of this, there may be very long lines to get to the ticket office to pay the admission fee and/or lines to board the transportation.

2. No visibility

→ Of either Rio de Janeiro or the Christ the Redeemer Statue due to a cloud cover!

The majority of Rio de Janeiro travel guides don’t give detailed how-to information on how to avoid waiting in line. Additionally, they usually fail to tell visitors how to avoid wasting their time and money on visiting the Christ Monument when there is no visibility.

It is quite common to see travelers reading their Rio de Janeiro travel guidebooks while waiting in line. Or disappointingly reading their books while waiting the cloud cover to dissipate (if it does).

Don’t let your fun vacation day in Rio de Janeiro be ruined for lack of information on Christ the Redeemer. Learn the secrets of visiting the Christ the Redeemer statue on Corcovado Mountain by getting a copy of the e-book Christ the Redeemer Statue: A comprehensive guidebook.

This book has been written by myself, a Rio de Janeiro tour guide who has visited the statue more than 900 times! Download the Christ the Redeemer e-book (in PDF) by clicking below.

So pleased I was able to find it!

Jun 11, 2014 by Alex, Atlanta, USA

What can I say? – Thanks to the author for creating such a helpful guidebook! I am so pleased I was able to find it before my trip to Rio. The book covers all the questions you may have on visiting Christ the Redeemer statue- from “how and when to visit?” to “why was the statue built?”. It also contains maps, design diagrams, and schedules. This is an amazing source of information created by a local tour guide. So, if you plan to visit the statue without a tour guide, this is the only book you would need to get ready for your trip. Even if you are a part of a tour group, I would still recommend to get this book. You will find much more info here than any tour guide can provide.

Response: Thank you very much for the review. Have a nice trip to Rio! Madson.

Comprehensively accurate

Aug 26, 2013 by John M.

The world-renowned Christo Redentor statue floating above Rio is an extraordinary sight under the right conditions, but it can also be a disappointment if you don\'t have the background information and touristic guidance provided by this e-book. The information is up-to-the-minute accurate and complete, and as comprehensive as an encyclopedia with pictures. I have researched the field and, whether in print or e-book format, there is nothing else with as much in-depth coverage of every aspect of this site, including tips on the best ways--and best times--to visit the statue.

Response: John, thank you very much for the review and the compliments. All the best, Madson.

According to my experience this book provides accurate and up-to-date information. However, the main thing, it suggests the right way to visit Corcovado. As far as trivia, you wil learn all important and curious facts about the stature in about 30 min. That is it! This book has all you need to know and nothing you don\'t - to pay a visit to Christ the Redeemer in Rio.

Response: Thank you Vadim. Yes, the book does suggest the right way of visiting the statue to avoid standing in line for hours, and other disappointments. In addition, when I wrote the book I wanted to make sure that the curiosities section would be full of interesting facts to entertain the reader. All the best, Madson.

Very detailed and useful

The amount of information contained therein was so very interesting. I truly think that you should publish it as a hard copy book! The presentation and written information was of great interest and a must for all visitors to Rio. We have been up to the Redeemer, I only wish I had had this book before we went, there is soo much I missed simply thru' lack of information to hand. A wonderful little piece of Rio's history in your pocket.

Response: Thank you for your review Anne. That\'s a pity that you bought the book after having visited the statue. You\'ve missed the information on best-way-to-visit, but at least you have read all the interesting facts and curiosities about the Christ the Redeemer statue. All the best, Madson.
