Visiting Historical Rio

Visiting the historical Rio de Janeiro is a must when travelling to Brazil as it gathers several colonial buildings that are part of the history of the city and the country. The Rio Downtown (called ‘Centro’ in Brazilian Portuguese) impresses visitors especially because it combines the old and the modern, since it is also the business district with hundreds of office buildings.

Rio de Janeiro Downtown is a must-visit.  When visiting Rio, you should allocate time to at least have an overview of the area, and have a look at some of the attractions worth-seeing. Don’t limit yourself to Christ the Redeemer statue and Sugar Loaf Hill, as you will be missing a lot of interesting sites in Rio, for example, those in the Downtown area. After all, these two classic spots are at about 20-minute away by taxi from Downtown.
