Am I allowed to touch Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio de Janeiro?

No, you can not touch Christ statue on Corcovado Mountain. The statue is on an 8-metre high (26.2 feet) granite pedestal. Of course, you can touch the pedestal, but you can’t reach the statue itself. Climbing the pedestal’s parapet is also not allowed.

Learn the dos and don’ts of the statue by getting a copy of Christ the Redeemer Statue – A Comprehensive Guidebook to Visiting the Rio de Janeiro Landmark atop Corcovado Mountain. (Or, download a free book preview below).
