Direct bus from Sugar Loaf to Corcovado in Rio de Janeiro

There is no direct bus to go from Sugar Loaf hill to Christ the Redeemer atop Corcovado Mountain in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

You would need to walk for about 15 minutes to get to the bus stop, then take bus # 583, which will take you in 20 minutes to the Corcovado Train Station in Cosme Velho neighborhood, where you can take the train up to the summit of Corcovado Mountain and see the Christ statue right in front of you.

Beware that most bus stops in Rio de Janeiro have no information on buses or itineraries (neither there is information inside the buses). In fact, the best way go from Sugar Loaf to Corcovado, or the other way around, is by taking a yellow cab. Taxis is Rio de Janeiro are safe, reliable, clean and rather inexpensive for short rides.

Before coming to Rio, plan your budget ahead to be able to take taxis here and there, as it will make you life not only easier but you will move faster, and see and do more things in less time, and consequently save money.
