How long does it take to visit Sugar Loaf in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil?

How much time do I need to visit Sugar LoafAre you wondering how much time do you need to visit Sugar Loaf? It depends on several factors.

Taking a taxi from Copacabana, Ipanema, Leblon, or Cruise Ship Terminal to Sugar Loaf Mountain, visiting it, and getting back takes approximately two hours in the low season (April through June and August through November). On sunny weekends during the high season (July, and December through March), peak and extreme peak days will take three to four hours to visit Sugar Loaf if you arrive mid-morning or later. Keeping the trip to two hours during the peak high season days requires arriving at the ticket office at no later than 9:00 a.m. or 9:30 a.m. to beat the crowd.

On extreme peak days (and sometimes on peak days), two lines form (and grow) to visit Sugar Loaf: one for the ticket office and the other one for boarding the cable cars (up as well as down!).
