Marius Restaurant in Rio de Janeiro

Marius Degustare is one of the most traditional, best and famous restaurants in Rio de Janeiro, which offers a 5-star all-you-can-eat steak, fish and seafood for a flat fee.

Marius steakhouse is a touristy, very upscale restaurant, with a fascinating decor. On a daily basis, there are more tourists than Cariocas (natives of Rio de Janeiro), since most locals prefer to eat at slightly less expensive steakhouses such as Porcão, Fogo de Chão, and the good-value-for-money Carretão.

Many tourists love to eat at Marius Restaurant, because of the service, the decoration, and above all because of the quality, the quantity and the variety of the food. Others tourists, though, find it too touristic.

One advantage that Marius has over other similar restaurants in Rio de Janeiro is that it offers three all-you-can-eat options:

  • 1.  All-you-can-eat beef (like any other steakhouse in Rio de Janeiro)
  • 2.  All-you-can-eat fish/seafood (not found in other restaurants in Rio de Janeiro)
  • 3.  All-you-can-eat beef and fish/seafood (not found in other restaurants in Rio de Janeiro)

That means that at Marius Restaurant people who don’t eat meat can still have a great time by eating fish/seafood, and those who don’t eat fish/seafood, can try all the different cuts of beef they want, again and again, over and over for a flat price. And those who want to try both the fish/seafood and the beef cuts can also do so.

The flat price includes (no matter what option you choose) a huge and very fine salad bar, which is not at all limited to salad. Beware that the flat price does not include desert and beverages — check their price before ordering to avoid unexpected surprises.

Price of Marius Restaurant:

All-you-can-eat meat for R$115; US$57.50; €50.
All-you-can-eat seafood (or both meat and seafood) for R$170; US$85; €74.

Address of Marius Restaurant:

Avenida Atlantica, 290 Leme – Rio de Janeiro – Brazil (Leme is the adjacent neighborhood to Copacabana, less than 5 minutes by taxi).

Tip before going to eat at Marius restaurant:

Have a late breakfast in your hotel to skip lunch, and have an early dinner (around 5 p.m.) at Marius restaurant. This way you:

  • 1. You save the lunch
  • 2. You don’t need reservation (unless you are a big group)
  • 3. You will be hungry enough to cope with the large amount of delicious food available
  • 4. Eating early gives you time to digest before going to bed

Note: If you go eating at Marius Restaurant, don’t forget to have a look at the unique restrooms.
