Upon disembarking the Sugar Loaf Mountain cable car (gondola) at Praia Vermelha (Red Beach) in Urca area, you can easily take a yellow taxi to Copacabana, Ipanema, Leblon, or to any other district in Rio de Janeiro.
There are two yellow taxi stands right there. Otherwise, you can just hail a taxi on the street, since taxis arrive all the time to drop off passengers. As Copacabana is very close to Praia Vermelha in Urca district, you get back to your hotel in no time and spending not much money, since a ride to Copacabana costs approximately R$15; US$7; €6.
Either before or after visiting Sugar Loaf, don’t miss to walk a few steps to get to Praia Vermelha (Red Beach), where you can have a photo of Sugar Loaf Mountain from a different perspective, and of course, of Praia Vermelha.

Note: Taking taxis is by far the fastest, safest and most convenient way to get around in Rio de Janeiro. Several places of interest are not that close to go on foot, while are just a short and inexpensive taxi ride away. For example, Sugar Loaf and Corcovado Mountain are not that far from each other, but quite a walk (partially uninteresting) from each other. In fact, there is no direct bus or subway that connect both icons.
