Once you reach the top of Sugar Loaf, you will have a breathtaking view of Rio de Janeiro and many of Rio’s attractions such as:

–     Corcovado Mountain
–     Christ the Redeemer statue
–     Downtown (the business district)
–     The Metropolitan Cathedral (Modern)
–     Rio-Niterói Bridge
–     Niterói City
–     Copacabana, Vermelha, Urca, and Flamengo Beaches
–     Guanabara Bay (Rio’s famous bay)
–     Ships coming in and out of the bay
–     Santos Dumont Airport (SDU)
–     Santa Cruz Fortress
–     Urca Neighborhood
–     And mountains; many mountains…

Not all of these sites are actually close to Sugar Loaf. Christ the Redeemer statue, for example, can be seen at a distance (but you can still take a great photo of it if you bring a  camera with a decent zoom). Other sites such as Praia Vermelha (Vermelha Beach), can be seem from very close.

One thing is for sure: you won’t be disappointed because the views from Sugar Loaf Hill are unforgettable.
