You board the cable car to Sugar Loaf Mountain next to Praia Vermelha (Red Beach) in Urca Neighborhood. Urca is an area very close to Copacabana.
The taxi ride takes anything between 10 to 30 minutes, assuming that you depart from your hotel in Copacabana, Leme, Leblon or Ipanema. Traffic plays a major role, and Rio’s traffic is getting worse in the last years.
