Nightlife in Rio de Janeiro is just a taxi away from your accommodation in Copacabana, Ipanema, Leblon or Leme neighborhoods. Sometimes the best nightlife is just at walking distance from your hotel, B & B or hostel. H – Hotel
The letter H followed by a number refers to a recommended hotel. However, on the maps you will not find the name of each hotel due to two reasons: 1) to save space, and 2) because once in Rio you will much probably not be looking for hotels. Refer to Chapter 10 “Best-Located Places to Stay” to learn about each hotel marked on the map.
NB – Night Bar
On the maps the legend NB indicates a popular café/bar/restaurant where locals go to drink and eat. These places have no live music.
N – Nightlife (vida noturna)
The letter N followed by a number represents a recommended nightlife venue, usually a popular bar/restaurant with live music where locals go. Regrettably, for a lack of space the bar names and descriptions have not fitted on the maps, but can be found on Chapter 7 “Rio’s Music Scene”, in My Rio Travel Guide.
