Hotels near Christ the Redeemer

First things first, you don’t need a hotel near Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio de Janeiro. Besides, there are no hotels near Christ statue (except one that closed many years ago, but may reopen in the future).

Even if there was a hotel close to the statue, that wouldn’t be a good idea to stay there. Why? Because the statue is isolated on the top of Corcovado Mountain.

When visiting Rio de Janeiro you need to stay in a hotel in the most convenient neighborhoods in Rio: Copacabana, Ipanema, Leblon, and Leme. These districts have all you need as a tourist (even if you don’t want to look like one). Besides, dozens of hotels in these areas have view to Christ statue (either from the guest room, breakfast room, or from the rooftop bar/swimming pool).

Differently that the district adjacent to Christ the Redeemer, these top four neighborhoods offer the following advantages to Rio de Janeiro visitors:

  • ► They have plenty of hotels to choose from
  • ► They are on the beach (you may choose a more affordable hotel a few blocks away from the beach, but it would still be at walking distance — maximum a 10-minute walk)
  • ► They have nearby all the conveniences: ATMs, banks, supermarkets, drugstores, travel agencies, bars, restaurants, etc.
  • ► They are at a short and reasonably inexpensive taxi ride away from major attractions such as Christ the Redeemer statue and Sugar Loaf Hill. (By the way, these attractions can visited in half day).
