The main airport in Rio de Janeiro is GIG airport. It serves as an international as well as a domestic airport. Its official name is Galeao/Antonio Carlos Jobim.
GIG international airport has two terminals: terminal one and terminal two. Both are interconnected by a long indoor hallway. From either terminal you can easily take a taxi or a bus that can take you to your hotel.

The Galeao international airport is located in the north area of Rio, 24 kilometers (16 miles) from Copacabana Beach, where the vast majority of hotels are located. Since Ipanema, Leblon and Leme are districts adjacent to Copacabana, the distance between GIG airport and any of these neighborhoods are approximately the same. The GIG airport infrastructure is good enough.
