How do I get a taxi after visiting Sugar Loaf in Rio de Janeiro?

Are there taxis available at the exit of Sugar Loaf?

To take a taxi after having visited Sugar Loaf Mountain in Rio is very easy and safe. You have two options at the exit:

Option 1) Take a taxi at the very first taxi stand you see when leaving Station 1 (where you bought the tickets to the cable cars). Note: Some taxi drivers will offer a flat rate (off meter) based on your destination, which is often twice the cost of the metered rate.

Option 2)  Walk farther to your left for a minute or so, cross the street, and take a taxi at the stand in front of the Laguna Bar, where the taxi drivers will run on the meter. As Copacabana is less than 10 minutes away, the ride will cost less than US$ 10.

Note about cabs is Rio de Janeiro
There is plenty of yellow cabs in Rio and the fares are not expensive. It is unlikely that you will have any trouble on finding a free one, except at raining nights when Cariocas (natives of Rio) skip the buses since they can not stand a single drop of rain (we are all spoiled for having great blue sky whether almost all year around).
