Can you go inside Christ the Redeemer statue?

You can not go inside Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The statue is hollow, but tourists cannot enter, although there is a staircase inside.

Only a handful of people including engineers, architects, researchers, renovation workers, and photographers have had the opportunity to see the Jesus statue from the inside. In fact, inside the statue is not even attractive.

On the other hand, you can go inside the chapel underneath Christ the Redeemer statue. The chapel is located inside the 8-meter (25 feet) high pedestal covered with black granite.
