Opening hours of Christ the Redeemer

The opening hours to the Christ the Redeemer statue on Corcovado summit in Rio de Janeiro coincides with the minibus and the train operating time. In other words, when either one operates, visitors have access to the statue on the summit of the mountain (visiting hours).

Minibus operating hours
The minibus to Christ statue operates daily, including holidays, from 8:05 a.m. (first trip up) to 6:00 p.m. (last trip down). There are more than 20 minibuses on the shuttle route to the top of Corcovado Mountain (holding 15 people each).

Minibuses depart every few minutes, depending on the demand. During Daylight Saving Time in Brazil (from the third Sunday in October to the third Sunday in February), the last minibus goes up at 7:00 p.m., and the last one comes down at 7:30 p.m. The Christ statue’s staff always clear the area to make sure that no tourist is left behind.

Little train operating hours
The train departs every 20 or 30 minutes, depending on demand. The train operates daily, including holidays, beginning at 8:30 a.m. and ending at 6:30 p.m. (last train ascending Corcovado Mountain). The last descending train departs the summit at 7:00 p.m.

During Daylight Saving Time, the last ascending train may be at 7:30 p.m., and the last descending may be at 8:00 p.m. (depending on demand and weather conditions).
