Summer in Rio de Janeiro is officially from December 21st, January, February, to March 21st. However, if you live in a cold climate, you may feel that Rio’s autumn (approximately from March 20th, April, May, to June 20th) and spring (approximately from September 22nd, October, November, to December 21st) are just like your summer, with average temperatures around 23ºC (73.4ºF).
Bear in mind that April through November can be slightly cold and windy up Corcovado Mountain (the temperature from July to September can be as low as 12ºC [53ºF]), so a pullover and trousers are recommended when visiting Christ the Redeemer statue.
December through March the temperature at Corcovado summit is usually between 24ºC (75ºF) and 33ºC (91ºF).
